Last blog this year!

I have left some traces and glimpses to my life through these blogs. I have written them every single day! This was something I did consistently, sometimes not putting much thoughts in to it.  I’m not sure if my thoughts, if made public will come back someday to get me good! So I don’t reveal everything in these posts. I don’t have to intention to hurt anyone’s feelings through these blogs. I will continue to write, with some filters to my thoughts or maybe not!

Tasks, back on track

I’ve been falling back on my daily tasks! I picked myself up today. I had a lazy day today and I wanted to  do something about it. I first stepped out and poured water for all the plants!  Then I started with my piano assignments! I’ll have to send it completely tomorrow. Have to get back on track. Especially after tomorrow it’s 2023!

Allen’s birthday

29th was Allen’s birthday! We all caught up at his place. Met Marcus, Tanya, Jincy, Valerine, Andy and also Allen’s friend Priyanka. We played spyfall, using our phone and it was a decent game. We chatted with Allen’s dad about his work and how he’s going to retire by July. We had mutton biryani, naan, different variety of chicken. The highlight was the rasamalai. I enjoyed it and got home by 11. We started playing COD and Marcus joined us. I wrote this blog while they were in the game, before I could sleep.

Three days to end this year!

What a year it has been! I achieved a lot of feats, got my drivers license. Travelled to Goa twice, health got significantly better. My classes are going great. All I can say is it’s all by God’s grace that I could do these things. I can just sit back and count my blessings and also be prepared to recieve more blessings.

Chess

I started playing chess again on chess.com. The game is very interesting just a bunch of pieces that have specific function. Chess requires one to calculate the move in advance, predict the opponent’s move and it’s a great activity to pass time.  I repeat games with great players so I can predict their moves and I play till I defeat them. Sometimes they don’t agree for a repeat game. Anyway, I’m quite enjoying it.

The ghost who played the guitar all night!

He woke up again hearing the strings of his guitar! This was the third night in a row! Someone was playing his guitar after midnight. He went into his studio, and switched the light on. There it was, his Yamaha F310, neatly leaned on a Hercules. He brushed his fingers on the strings! The strings played a perfect DADGAD! He packed his guitar into the case. He really didn’t want his guitar played by ghosts!  Next morning he took his guitar out to finish the  composition, set it in his lap. From the sound hole emerged a cockroach, then scramming for it’s dear life it fell on his lap and leaped to the floor. He swiftly set his guitar down, grabbed his slippers and swung it aiming at the  quick feet-ed, date-sized roach! Splat!  That was the end of the ghost who played the guitar all night.

Fever - 7

I had my head shower today after the fever subsided.  I met Allen, Andy and Jincy today. Allen gave me a T-shirt and a full pajama set, we wore it and took pictures. Andy also got some Christmas special biryani and custard. The biryani and pickle was great combo and easy on the stomach and very tasty. The fruit custard was out of this world!  I also cleaned my house, washed all dishes. This was a productive day!

Fever-6

My fever has come down. I just have slight heaviness on my chest and back, and cough. I’m going to complete my antibiotic course without fail. I’m positive this will resolve quickly.  My piano assignments were reviewed and I’ve to make so many corrections. Looks like I have to send them again.  Looking forward to what today throws at me!

Fever - 5

I had been lagging behind on my piano assignment submissions. Some of these assignments require me to count loudly and hang a sore throat and body pain definitely does not make it easy.  Here’s how my day went I woke up at 7:30 am after an ok sleep cycle.  Put an apple in blender, boiled water, ordered food, took a steam, gargled, brushed, took my before food meds, drank the apple pulp, had the food I ordered, took my after food meds, took off my shirt, switched on the water pump (important),  poured water for the plants in the sun, drank a glass of water, took my cough syrup, sat down to submit my piano assignments.  The assignments were much difficult, I hadn’t practiced all these days. Somehow I finished it all by 11:15 am. I came to my bed and heard some water trickling! I had forgotten to switch off the pump! I immediately switched it off. I have to ALWAYS! I mean ALWAYS set a reminder to switch it off.

Fever - 4

I couldn’t sleep last night. Body pain, fever, cough. Loss of appetite. I consulted with Dr Berjin online and he put me on some antibiotics. I’m too tired to think and write today.  I found enough strength to drag myself to brush and go shopping for medicines and fruits. I ate one thatte Idli today and took my pills. I’m gonna need some sleep!

Fever -3

I felt much better after taking a Dolo! I decided to stay back after the wedding. I kept the mask on, being very careful and took it out only to take pictures and to eat.  Andy introduced me to Cheryl and skillfully missed most of the programs he was supposed to be a part of, he claimed he had some genuine work. But I suspect he missed the program to avoid dancing and singing.  I hung out mostly with Allen, Stephen and Emmanuel. I took a ride back with Sahana aunty and Amanda and reached home at 10:30 and crashed

Fever -2

Sticking to plans for  Susan’s wedding today, I have very high fever. I’ll be wearing a mask through out and will leave the venue as soon as I play the song. I’m also feeling weak. If it wasn’t for that song I wouldn’t be going today. I had chills and fever and cold.  Dolo should do the trick to give me 4 hours of time there.

Fever

I just finished practicing the song for Susan’s wedding. I have fever! I had no sense of space, just floated though the rehearsal. A drunk hindi guy came in during the practice and started joining in for the tamil song. It was so funny! Jayanth uncle takes back to him in Kannada and said let him learn some South Indian languages. He was later escorted out by Edwin uncle.  Now practise is over. I have to sort out dinner and get some valuable shut eye!

Allen Daniel in Bangalore

Last night Andy and I picked up Allen Daniel from the airport! He was here to surprise his parents. I left carols early, leaving the guitar duties with  Jayanth uncle at around 11:00 am.  Andy met me at church and we left at around 11:30, met Jude and Sharmi on the way for coffee. We whiled away some time and reached airport at around 1:00. Then we walked around the airport and checked out the stores and restaurants there. We picked Allen, filled my car with all his suitcases and drove back.  On the way, we stopped for cup noodles at the Shell petrol pump, we didn’t want to reach until 5:00 am and startle his parents so early. Allen jumped his gate and rang the bell a few times before his dad opened the door!! Thank god he didn’t mistake us for thugs in hoodies and called the cops on us!

Carols 2022

I have been enjoying carols this season. It’s so much fun with the bigger boys Sam and Silvester with Jude. They are always in a jovial mood and pulling each others legs just like I am with my friends. I’m also enjoying the food choices! I only have a breakfast then I wait till evening for the carols.  So far, the best food ever was at Suma aunty’s place, palao and chicken curry and mutton upma at Jayanth uncle’s place. I’m yet to find a cake that can sweep me away!  Music wise it’s not easy lugging around the guitar. I need a light one, and I already broke 4 strings!! Have to go early to church to change the broken ones.

Thirst

The clay jar smoked as the bouncing water inside it cooled down. The steam created a holy aura around the jar. It would eventually cool down and go a few more degrees lower than the external temperature.  It’s noon  time now! I had just watered the plants, took my dog out for a walk, oiled my body, got some sun. My mouth was dry! I needed it! Water! I saw the jar on the black marbled kitchen counter top. It stopped steaming. The jar was cold and lightly moist to touch. I poured it gently into my 500 ml beer mug.  I sipped on it, didn’t gulp it in a hurry. I was really thankful. My dry mouth came back to life. I felt the chilled water go down my parched throat. Then a sense of cool hit my stomach. I continued sipping and felt my stomach getting heavier! I was satiated!

Back home : Bangalore

The last day in Goa was spent at the airport. I checked in my luggage at 12:00 midnight and took a nap for an  hour at the airport. It was too cold to fall asleep, so I walked around for a bit. When my flight boarding was announced I saw a crowd there out of no where. So I decided to stay back and go in the very end.  I reached Bangalore at 7:30 am and booked an expensive cab home. I went to church, sleep deprived and helped the Sunday school kids with the Christmas play and songs. I was too tired and started sleep walking literally. I took a nap for one hour in church because we had carols at 4:00 pm!!  I attended the carols and it got over at around 1:30, feeling sleepy and tired I drove like I was in a dream and while B parking my car, I crashed the side to the gate. I woke up the next day (Monday) and left it at Le’mans for a body work. Hope they do a good job and I get it by tomorrow.

For sale!

Father forgive me, for I have sinned!  I just wanted to feel,  Find my missing piece!  I thought it could be bought!  I spent much; of money, time and effort,   To find my missing piece,  When I found another broken piece,  I learnt again that Love couldn’t be bought.

Goa day 4

We relaxed a little too much on day 4, walked to a popular breakfast place. Solomon was denied entry for showing too much skin. So we went to another place, the food was expensive and bad! We were served crispy bacon sandwiches when we ordered pulled pork.  We drove around for a bit, and parked to walk to Dona Paula view point, disappointed there was nothing there. We went to a spa later.  We packed and checked out from hotel luxe. There was too much traffic in preparations for Modi’s arrival. We were tired and hungry, after much driving  and almost running out of fuel we found a Punjabi food place called Chaat Di Hatti. We ordered samosa, chole-bhature and poori. The food was amazing!  We reached the airport and returned the car we took. There was a dent that happened on the way to bungee jumping. They demanded ₹7500. Somehow we negotiated it to ₹4000 with Oscar award winning performance from yours truly.  Many incidents happened today. Many learnings, experiences, expenditure. That’

Goa Day 3

We checked out from Village by the sea, and drove to Cola beach. The roads were not an easy terrain with a lot of curves and bends. The road to the beach was rocky and muddy and just enough for one car to fit in through thick vegetation.  We were invited by a cliff with the best view of the beach. We had to traverse through 200 steps to get to the blue lagoon. We did kayaking for an hour there and floated on water. We had a late breakfast at the blue lagoon hotel and drove back to north Goa!  I took a toilet break at Starbucks, and also got some caffeine in my system.   We explored the Miramar beach after checking in at hotel Luxe! I had a good time chatting up with the receptionist with a fake American/British-accent!  We walked through a market nearby and bought bebinca, cashews and stuff for friends and family. We also discovered the delicious pav and egg omelette gravy by the way side. We also cut a small muffin to celebrate Solomon’s birthday! He drove around for sometime, stepped

Goa day 2

We went for breakfast at cinnamon near Colva beach and they didn’t disappoint!! Then we drove to a place called jumping heights that was a long drive! On the way there was a ferry to be taken and while getting on it and reversing my vehicle turned off and the breaks stopped working. The cab brushed on the right side of our rented car. I think we have to pay for the damages.   We then went to Basilica of Bom Jesus where    the body of st Francis was kept. I was only interested in the art gallery there with Illuminati symbols. Almost all art work had the popular triangle or the eye some even had demons. I enquired why this was displayed in a church and the staff always redirected me to a non existing manager. Then we went to there.Goa. Solomon treated us to a late lunch there! We had bone marrow and I order grilled fish. Solo drove us back covering almost 44 kms and I hoped on getting some break. But I was anxious coz, let’s be a little kind here, Solo was a noob. We came back to our sta

Goa day 1 with Shiva and Solo

Shiva, Solo and I left my place at 10:00 and checked in! After the security checks we loafed around the place. One hour was spent goofing around, eating donuts, drinking coffee.  The flight was by Vistara. We met an old Italian couple and I made small talks with them. He looked like Santa! He said he’s travelled to India at least 50 times.  We reached Goa, booked a car to self drive! After which we decided to just drive to Colva! We went to different guest houses and found a neat place called A village by the sea. It was not so expensive. We freshened up and went for our dinner at Martin’s corner. We drove to the beach and took a walk through the cold sand. After which we drove back to our place and crashed. The adventure will continue…

Shiro

I had Peking duck yesterday. It was nice. Tasted like grill chicken. I was asked to put slices of duck on a pancake, spread the sauce that came with it,  add a spring onion, cucumber, roll it up and bite into it!  For some reason they served sugar with the dish! It was a first serving sugar with a meat dish. I also asked for some chili oil! It was yummy! I also had prawn tempura!   I think I’ll go back there, for the ramen next time!  Now off I go to pack to Goa!

Winter break

I’ll be going to Goa tomorrow! This time, taking a flight there. There’s not much planned, I want to go to there.Goa, the restaurant where we enjoyed great food last time! Also maybe do some mild kayaking and sight seeing.  After I get back It’s time for carols at church and on 18th it’s the final Sunday school program. After that I will resume classes.

Manipulative people

When people are toying with you to get stuff done, it’s a red flag. I think, it’s my gut feeling that helps, that I don’t fall prey to this behavior. Once, I gave in to this manipulation, to a romantic interest of mine, knowing I was being manipulated. But as for the others, I steer clear off them.  One such incident that comes to mind was when I was used to get a free ride. I knew I was getting used! So let’s just say I used this person too. This person I was dating would call me to tell me how much she missed me and how she wanted to see me desperately. I would travel half way through the Bangalore traffic, keeping my work aside taking her around, shopping and then there would be no sign of her until she has another need. Since we were active in church, she would call me a day before church on a Saturday to flirt casually (this was before we dated), so I give her enough attention the next day. I was totally non existent all the other days of the week but come Saturday there was flirt

Infinite souls farm workshop

Today I picked up Durga early morning, and came to the infinite souls farm for the workshop day 2. Had a long day and the was no internet connectivity here. So I borrowed internet from Joey to make this blog post.  It was so tiring gi sit through 5 hours of workshop. I ate a lot of brownies and also Palao and chicken curry! I’m going to stay over here tonight and jam with the awesome musicians here.

Guitar workshop

I took my students to a guitar workshop organized by Konarak Reddy and Kirtana, called guitar Gita. There was Julia, Antoine and Samuelito who imparted their knowledge to us. We were all excited to just be there and we got to learn a lot of things from them.  After the workshop I took them all to Taco Bell and dropped them safely to their apartment. Then I drove to church for the singing and skit practice! Now, will go to Sam and Soumya’s for a fun evening.

My day so far..

I started with an oil massage in the sun, watered the plants accompanied by Toffee.  Breakfast was grand today. I sautéed some broccoli, added dry herbs, fried eggs with star beans and Top Ramen.  For the drink, I had a strawberry, Apple, Amla smoothie.  I was on a call with Solomon, and I just got news that my niece is having fever. I’m off to her school to pick her up.

Infinite souls farm visit

Kirtana called me to the farm to help set up the Christmas tree, put up the stars and the crib yesterday. I was to decorate the farm while the my went to the city to pick up artists.  I left home at around 9:30 am and she called me asking if I can pick her up from a toll booth near by, which I did. She explained that she had to go back in to unlock the  door to switch off the oven, she had kept some muffins to bake.  When we arrived there were farm helps  already cut opened the lock. To our utter disappointment, the muffins were rock hard. We salvaged some and I washed some down with black coffee, carefully avoiding the hard crusts.  Kirtana left the farm in a bus to the city, and I put up the tree, 15 stars and also set up the crib using hay meant for the horses! I got back home by 5:00 pm!
