[Verse 1] You know, your mama and your daddy Saying I'm no good for you They call me dirty from the alley Till I don't know what to do [Pre-Chorus] I get so tired of sneakin' around Just to get to your back door I crawled past the garbage and your mama jumped out Screamin' "Don't come back no more." I can't take it [Chorus] My guitar wants to kill your mama My guitar wants to kill your mama My guitar wants to burn your dad I get real mean when he makes me mad [Verse 2] Later I tried to call you Your mama told me you weren't there She told me don't bother to call again Unless I cut off all my hair [Pre-Chorus] I get so tired of sneakin' around Just to get to your back door I crawled past the garbage and your mama jumped out Screamin' "Don't come back no more." Haitus!

Just piling myself with work! I woke up at 4:30 am. I started with a new book, more on this after I’m done with it. I did my piano assignments until 5:30. It’s was Mrs. Annie’s class, my math teacher remember?  Today being a holiday for most students I scheduled some make up classes and worked through 12:00 noon! I skipped breakfast and God knows how I could go on without food for so long because I had an early dinner yesterday. I would’ve easily gone 20 hours without food!  I remembered to take my vitamin D supplement with lunch. It was chicken and brown rice with breadfruit curry. Then I worked out after a bit. I fought through the pain and hung for one minute! Now I can’t feel my hands!  I was getting a lot of calls from my travel agent, who didn’t seem to be very organised. I helped him with the documents. I have done everything I can. I surrender every thing to God. Let it happen according to God’s plan.  Now I have more classes from 5:30 to 9:30. I also took in...

The dream!

Image
The conductor started the concert at a walking pace, andante ! It was quite pleasing to the ears for the audience of two. They enjoyed the sounds together, flowing with a crescendo, diminuendo as it picked up pace. It was a long concert. They enjoyed the music, made abstract meanings from the notes and whispered to each other! But the concerto was quite long. She left out a yawn, he didn’t notice. He was easily distracted! Soon they were on their phones watching reels and on DMs. They even texted each other while being in the same room! The music was ignored.  The conductor had his back towards them and caught them on their phones through the corner of his eye. He changed pace, added dynamics and some interesting diminished arpeggios magically to the orchestra to grab their attention! Oblivious to the melodies that filled the air, they  continued texting each other, ignoring the music.  The conductor then ended the show with a bang!  Their phones exploded at th...

Emojis

Image
How do you use emojis?  Often when someone’s texting, you cannot really see their body language or facial expressions. So emojis become your expression of joy, sadness, anger etc in various levels.  We sometimes decide to hide behind or express proactively using emojis. Sometimes a simple smile 😊 could be disguised pain while other times an emoji is an easier to use alternative to a few words. Emojis can also be used to cut out a conversation quickly.  When you start using emojis with someone on a regular basis, it takes up new meanings. It becomes a secret language between the two of you that no one else knows. It becomes fun to communicate and makes it so much special.  I have students who almost exclusively use emojis and also the gen-z language to communicate. I try to keep up with their jargons, learning them! Savage, Noob, FOMO, GOAT, Lit, Bruh, Swag, Lowkey, Thirst trap, No cap, Flexin. Of course I’m a boomer. Looks like short cuts are what we are after....

Sunday, church, 12 string guitar!

Image
I woke up early today. Mom had my breakfast ready and I thanked her for the food prepared for me.  I went to church and after the sermon, Andy, Sol, Ujwal and I went out for breakfast. We just drank tea and pazhampori. Andy ordered a dosa from Wayanadan’s cafe.  We got back to church quickly and caught up with the uncle’s and aunts. I spoke to Nivedh, who is moving to the US, at 35 years to study at Purdue university.  I also caught up with Nikhil and family, he just got back from Germany. Nikhil invited me over for some cured-smoked ham he got down from Germany. He didn’t have the slicer to make thin slices of it. We have to carve it with a knife carefully cutting it to very thin slices. Apparently the meat melts in your hand if cut at the right size. We also spoke about places to see around Germany! And he laughed at me being single and going to see the Eiffel Tower in France. And there I was with no Visa, having European dreams!  Then I spoke to Sharmi, it was her...

Wisdom

Image
Staring into the starry skies, he looked for Wisdom, his face froze with the drizzling rain. Was it out there?  He knew he wouldn’t find answers, just by looking into the night sky. He had to do something about it! He asked for it to the divine forces.   He had just read the Holy Bible, Proverbs 4: 6  “Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.” Wisdom! That was her name? She had all the answers, she had some questions that made him think too ! She foresaw the future, she had the knowledge from the past. He was in a quest to find all his answers. He looked for her words, she never revealed them to him. He suddenly felt low! His heart heavy! A sea of salty tears washed up on the banks of his eyelids.  He stopped himself from screaming into the sky! He was not angry, just sad! A Hendrix tune rang in his ear, Little Wing .  He went back to his only hope, God! He prayed for Wisdom! He read his Bible again, this ...

Thou shall not judge!

Image
I was of the impression that we must judge people who we are friends with. Only then we can define what kind of relationships we can maintain with them and how long. I am quick to judge, without seeing the complete picture and make mistakes on my judgement sometimes. But most times, my gut feeling is right and I take some chances, hoping to see the goodness in people.  Though the good book says  "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” This is more like an eye for an eye approach.  People change, they evolve, they emerge they sometimes go back to old ways and that’s ok. The key here is to know that, no matter what you do, people will disappoint. So, Do NOT waste time judging them, judge yourself and never disappoint yourself.  The above advice is for yours truly!
