What’s our curse?

What a time to live in? We are literally in between petty family fights to the Palestine-Israel war. All this noise in social media one is forced to take sides. But is it really about sides? Or are these distractions, cooked up to misguide us away from a bigger problem being discovered? 

I don’t like to take sides! There are assholes everywhere. Every event must be isolated and judged separately. I must build my tolerance to the left and right, isolating each event. 

It’s become so much easier to kill people who don’t share your opinions. Lot of people are dying unnatural death, to silence their speech. Human beings will never learn. We will continue the hating and the killing, until we ourselves die. That’s our curse.

Denzil is going back to the Netherlands tonight! So he called me (last night), to accompany him to IDC for breakfast! He wanted to satisfy his Masala Dosa and podi Idli cravings!  So we set out early, at  6:30ish as planned  7:45 to IDC. Andy joined us. We drank coffee, ate some amazing breakfast.  After we stepped out, our eyes fell upon this dawg! The pup was shivering.. and had this “I need help” “I’m cuter than them bitches” eyes. We really didn’t know what to do. People walking around at the park told us, it was abandoned and had difficulty to walk. Some people even asked us to “please do something, it needs help” Someone had abandoned the pup at the park maybe in hopes that someone will rescue her. “Compassionately heartless” quipped Denzil  I reached out to everyone I knew who had some experience with rescuing dogs! Heal

When was the last time you said,  “What I did was wrong” before blaming someone else? It takes integrity, humility, and courage to admit when you’re wrong. But doing so can bring peace and help you move on without bitterness. We all make mistakes, we’re human, not robots. We mess up sometimes, and that’s okay. Every action has consequences. We just have to face them and take responsibility for our choices. It's tough to live with guilt and shame, but you’ve got to forgive yourself and move forward. If you choose to repeat the same mistake, that’s your decision!, but be aware, there  will  be consequences. Growth only begins the moment you stop running from the truth and start owning your story. Along with being kind to yourself you must be honest as well. That’s when healing begins.

Willpower vs Distractions

I tried writing this blog a few times today, but every time I began, I got pulled away with thoughts, videos, or random sounds. It’s funny how the things that distract us always win. It could be a phone call right when you’ve finally sat down to do some focused work or a video that tempts you just as you’re getting into the zone. What can be done? I’ve come to realize that it all narrows down to  willpower,   our ability to say “ NO”  to the things that break our focus. The more we practice choosing to focus, the stronger that willpower becomes. Little things as, doing the bed as soon as you wake up, or doing the dishes right after a meal is a way to begin practising willpower.
