Movie day

Today I saw a lot of movies on Amazon prime. Im also ending the day with a movie watching jailer.  I don’t remember the movie stories really well. I’ll have to watch PS-1 again before I watch PS-2. I enjoy movies but I don’t get enough time to watch.

Staying over

I stayed over at Ullas’s place. Sebin and Liyo (came sneaking out of his house) I woke up to a luxurious breakfast. Stuffed calimari, prawns and idiappam! This was heavenly. I came back to Liyo’s place and had Ada payasam and chilled there.

Kovalam

Went to the beach today. I took bath in the salt water and went to eat fish at Ustad hotel. It was amazing. After that I spent time with nephews we chatted about marrying the right person.

Maveli Party

Today was the Onam party with my nephews and nieces, Ujwal, Ullas, Sebin, Sneha, Liyo and Laya. We danced, held fun competitions, ate a lot of food, spoke about a lot of things. It was fun!

Midnight adventure!

Lulu mall is working 24/7 here! Which means my cousin’s business of supplying fruits to the mall is a little hectic during onam. Last night we all hopped in to a car to Lulu mall’s godown and sorted and weighed bananas. After that we were famished and were treated generously with parotta and chicken!

Working vacation

I am currently figuring out ways to record a song and convert it to a karaoke track for them. It’s an old Malayalam devotional song, it’s quite easy to record this. I’m using my cousin’s help to record the track. Hope it comes out well.

Tvm with Jude and Sharmi

Jude and Sharmi visited me in Trivandrum. They are staying at my cousin’s homestay, Ujwal and I took them to Ustad Hotel at Vizhinjam, we had fish, prawns and also calamari. We also had Archa joining us cracking jokes in between. It was a fun night. The drive was a little too far be we enjoyed the company and food!

Missing my blog!

I missed my blog yesterday! Because I can. But I did it on purpose. Just felt like it.

Meeting relatives

I was soo tired I only woke up at 10:00 am! I had a very good night’s sleep. I spent some time with my uncle and aunt, we spoke about their gardening methods, I also spoke to my niece Laya, she’s going to be doing MBBS at Avicenna university in Tarjiksthan.  Then I went to Sebin’s place, met his mom caught up on the current affairs. It’s hot here and I’m welcoming the change from the crazy cold weather in Bangalore in comparison. I don’t seem to be having any congestion or pain.  I miss working out. I’ll do some floor exercises today.

A night and half day in the train

I settled in the train berth at around 9:30 pm. and watched a movie. I also listened to an audio book and as I slept I heard a loud thud. The guy on the adjacent berth was sitting up and I was puzzled and he said something fell from the top berth. It was Ujwal’s snack stack!  I woke up early and was on my phone, and noticed in the church group that Jones uncle had passed away.  Ujwal and I skipped breakfast anticipating and eagerly waiting for the beef parottas from Good Morning hotel. We’ll reach by 1:20 according to the train app. Hunger strikes!

Ethan’s baptism & Etasha’s birthday

Today was a long day, I woke very early and started with the piano assignments, completed a few. I also made oats smoothie with avocado. It was now time for church, at church they asked me to judge the singing competition for kids and there was breakfast, for Ethan’s baptism. I had two sannas and chicken. Loaded with food, it was time now to go to lunch again, I had mutton biryani. Felt a lot heavy!  Now it’s time to pack and go to God's Own Country!

Going to Kerala!

I’ll be leaving to Kerala, to spend time with my relatives and to go on a reset. I’m not quite happy with my routines, so it’s best that I come back with a reset. I’m worried about not working out for two weeks and the impact that it can have on the body. I look forward to having a good time there.

Kanji!

My dinner was payar kanji, made by mom. I also had chutney powder with it. Payar kanji is boiled matta rice, green gram, coconut, fenugreek, small onion and red chilli. Easy to make, easy on the palate.

No depression! No stress!

I’m not stressed or depressed after I started working out regularly. Earlier, I used to have phases of depression and stress! I never have such thoughts. Lifting weights and working out is the latest thing in my life! It’s been a month of this and slowly I’m seeing a good progress.  So when I see Sibeena depressed, I know there is no such thing as depression if you just workout and keep stress and depression at bay!

Freedom fest

I went to a christian fest, with full on music and stalls. My friends Joe and Sanjay were playing. I didn’t enjoy the show, perhaps because the sound was too loud. Also the dust from the ground clogged my sinuses.  The only solace was Andy and Solomon there and also the food. I enjoyed some hot dogs, Texan bbq wings there. They also had pork sausage!

Independence Day!

My niece woke me up at 7:30 am today! She was ready to go to the flag hoisting in our layout. She gets excited for these things so I accompanied her. It was boring. I think everyone did it out of some moral obligation no one felt proud of the independence we have. I also sang a half hearted Jana Gana Mana.. but I realized that it is these little things that bring us together. People from different faith, age, gender, caste etc. are together for once.

Student concert

Shreyas and I had a long meeting today to plan the event, selected some songs, fix a budget to have the show at Alliance Française with sound, lights, photography etc.The cost would be around a lakh to host the show as of now. But we will cut costs. It is kind of overwhelming to do this but, God willing it will go well.

Renuka!

I’m really thankful for Renuka, she helps keep my house clean. I’m able to focus on other things and channel my energy to more important things. What I like is, she need not be told what needs to be done. She does it all by herself, and there’s no back  and forth conversations or the usual gossip. The work gets done quietly.

Pazampori before workout!

I did not have a proper lunch today. Just a little bit of rice for namesake. When it was time to workout, I felt really weak. I boiled two eggs, had it with the stuffed chilli pickle and on the way to the gym, stopped to hate banana fritters. I had two of those and Solomon had one. I found my energy at the gym!

Home alone!

I’m home alone. My parents and sisters family went to Chennai. I was assigned a lot of chores.  After I woke up, I had sort the compost bin, feed the dog, do dishes and gym. I was done with gym at 12:15 today. I had a quick shower and I had my guitar lessons with Sharanya. It was 2:30 and I had to sort Toffee’s second meal, my own meal which I ordered from Uncle Kitchen. I couldn’t find enough time to nap. I fed Toffee again, and watered the plants and taught music from 5:00 to 9:00pm.  I skipped dinner because I wanted to feel hungry. Completed part of my piano assignments. I will brush after this blog and crash!

Pistachios

I’m addicted! I have no idea why I eat so many pistachios. I stopped buying them. Then again I crave for it. It’s definitely the salt. My thumb nails have left its bedding separating pistachios and they hurt. How is this thing so crunchy and delicious? It’s definitely the salt, it’s the salt.

Gym + Music!

Today at the gym I played some 80s classic rock, and this complimented the workout. I paced my cardio and exercises with the music and I felt connected to it. It was amazing to feel this. Maybe because I was familiar with the songs I could focus on the workout. But definitely music helped!

How I like my eggs now!

I got some mango pickles and dried sugary and spicy amla from Orion last weekend, when I was there with Vridhi and Solomon. Vridhi introduced me to a Punjabi speciality, a big stuffed red chilli pickle and I wanted to try this. I bought 100 grams of it. I didn’t enjoy it much with rice kanji.  I tried the pickle sandwiched between two slices of a whole egg. It was epic! It added the saltiness that the egg lacked and it wasn’t too spicy. I have this everyday! 2 eggs and a little stuffed red chili pickle.

Early!

I slept late last night. 2:00 am! But I woke up at 6:00 am for my class. I haven’t slept well. But I’ll catch up with my nap in the afternoon today. I’ve been a little distracted with cousins and nephews in town but I was surprised that I found time to work out and be with my friends among all the chaos. Today Ujwal and I went to the gym an hour earlier than usual, Bharath was a little down today, not sure why, he did not have the same energy as usual. We worked out till about 10:45 and headed back home. I made my oats smoothie and now it’s time for a nap!

Talk to me!

Vridhi, Solomon and I made some last minute plan to watch Talk to Me, on Friday night. We booked tickets at PVR gold! Solomon and I took the metro to Orion mall and we had to rush to the place, we made it on time, early. The theatre took about 15 minutes to clean up so the movie was delayed slightly. There were just 7 people including us watching the movie so it felt a little personalized. We bought expensive  popcorn, but cheaper than the tickets. And I felt thankful to God, that I could afford this luxury.  The movie was great! I didn’t feel the scares, I enjoyed this horror thriller film. There were no jump scares. I think I’m ready to take on some good horror films!

Friday is done!

Yesterday I worked from 4:30pm to 9:30pm straight with no breaks. I feel I’m over doing with this, the back pain kicks in sometimes and I take the classes standing up. It wasn’t easy yesterday, I had sore muscles from the work out. The only amazing thing is that all my students on Friday don’t need to be taught a lot. They can read music quite well, I just need to guide them through.

Soaked oats

I had soaked oats, blended with apple, a small banana, honey and some pumpkin seeds for lunch. It was so filling. I couldn’t have lunch after this. I feel so satiated and full. I boiled two eggs and had it with some green chillies and salt. I plan to have this atleast two to three times a week.

Guests in town!

My cousin sisters landed today! They will be here till the weekend! They have a lot of shopping to do at Chickpet, I couldn’t join them, because I didn’t want to miss my classes. They left as soon as they landed here to do some shopping and it’s almost 8:00 pm they haven’t reached back yet.

Laundry pile!

The rains never made it easy to wash and dry my clothes. The last few days there was enough sun. So today is laundry day. I sorted my clothes to formal wear, gym, jeans, casuals  and delicates. Off to wash I go!

Sharing my Instruments!

I really don’t like sharing my guitars, especially the good ones. My Ibanez, yamaha Pacifica and my classical guitar.  I’ve heard stories of how no one was allowed to touch my grandfather’s harmonium! Curious kids and adults were warned, and he knew if anyone touched it.  I had given Shebin my Signature guitar. My only guitar at that time. By the time he was done with it, his fashionable thumb ring took away the paint and some wood off the back of the fretboard. From then on I became paranoid, I couldn’t just share my guitars. I didn’t want them to make scars on mine.  Recently, Emmanuel wanted to borrow my electric guitar. I politely told him I was not comfortable sharing my guitar.  Today Rheya wanted to borrow my bass for someone else. I politely declined.  I feel guilty sometimes, I have played on many borrowed guitars myself when I couldn’t afford one. I have borrowed Jason’s guitar for Allegro fudge, Naresh’s bass for Slain and Raghu’s banjo to learn the banjo parts. Bit I still
