Bringing work home, some rules.

It is quite exhausting to get your family involved with your work, especially when something is wrong. I know you get the “feel good” emotional support from them, but what good is it anyway? You could be pondering in thought and may be forgetting what needs to be done. Your routine, feeding people, forgetting your medicines, your baby?

I think work time and thought shouldn’t be brought home. Home is for family. Yes, sometimes it’s ok to be this way, not every time if this becomes a habit. I have made a few rules for myself.

1. Never discuss work problems with your family unless it’s absolutely required

2. Never get family to do the work for you, unless you compensate them in some way.

3. Listen to family if they are bringing their work frustrations home but scoot if it is becoming a regular thing.

4. Communicate with family and delegate your tasks to someone else if you are not able to carry out.

5. Seek help only if it is absolutely necessary.

6. Try and smile even during hard times.
