Love, Loss, Liberation

Image
I’m grieving the loss of Mila, the pup. That’s what Tanya named her—Mila. She now rests at the PFA Pet Cemetery. It was truly heartbreaking. We gave it everything we had, especially Tanya, who stayed up tirelessly nursing her. I hoped for Mila’s recovery and did my part without expecting a specific outcome. I chose to support Tanya and Mila because, something had to be done to save the pup! The outcome, however, was left entirely to a higher power. The memory of Mila’s first look still lingers in my mind. I can’t seem to let it go. Despite all our efforts, we couldn’t save her. This loss has led me to reflect deeply on human relationships. We often pour our energy, time, and love into the people we care about, only to feel hurt when they use us and move on once their needs are fulfilled. But maybe that’s a blessing in disguise. Who wants fake friends and family anyway?  Everyone has their own battles, and if we feel disappointed, it’s often because we expect something in return. Ma...

RIP Dawg

Image
I woke up to bad news at 4:00 am, a message from Tanya. The dog we rescued had passed away. I called her, and she was in tears. Yesterday, Tanya had taken the dog to the vet for her second round of drips, and she seemed to get active a little bit. We were all so happy, seeing those positive changes. But later, the dog refused to eat or even drink water and passed away last night. I believe we did our best, especially Tanya. But it was simply her time to go. It’s heartbreaking.

Dawg!

Image
Denzil is going back to the Netherlands tonight! So he called me (last night), to accompany him to IDC for breakfast! He wanted to satisfy his Masala Dosa and podi Idli cravings!  So we set out early, at  6:30ish as planned  7:45 to IDC. Andy joined us. We drank coffee, ate some amazing breakfast.  After we stepped out, our eyes fell upon this dawg! The pup was shivering.. and had this “I need help” “I’m cuter than them bitches” eyes. We really didn’t know what to do. People walking around at the park told us, it was abandoned and had difficulty to walk. Some people even asked us to “please do something, it needs help” Someone had abandoned the pup at the park maybe in hopes that someone will rescue her. “Compassionately heartless” quipped Denzil  I reached out to everyone I knew who had some experience with rescuing dogs! Tanya, who was pretending to sleep, ignored our calls, but we called her mom to “wake” her up. I spoke to her while Denzil sent a picture of ...

The juggler!

Image
When life gave me a lemon, I made juice from it. I added some sugar and a pinch of salt. It was good while it lasted. Then life gave me an orange. I just ate it, it was sweet! It needed no add-ons. It nourished my soul. Now, life gives me all the citrus fruits. I don’t consume them anymore. I just toss them into the air and catch them. I’m the juggler!

Line 6 POD GO

Image
Earlier last year, a student accidentally dropped her bottle of water on my guitar processor and it crashed. I couldn’t fix it. I missed the ease of plug and play. After much research I settled for the Line 6 POD GO!  I’m already mind blown about how quiet it is. All the patches sounded great! So after classes today, I played on it quite a bit. I plan to explore the pedal. Maybe I’ll find some inspiration to write some music!

Lost

Image
What if the stars live in your eyes? I look into them, You blush and stare back at me. Your hands start to fidget, You accuse me for making you uncomfortable. I can’t hear your words, I’m floating, lost in this feeling.

Forged by fire

Image
Misfortune is the "fire" that forges toughness and growth, much like how metal is heated to make it stronger. Challenges push us beyond our comfort zones, forcing us to adapt, learn, and evolve in ways that comfort cannot. Can we grow without facing hardship? I do not think so. All the misfortunes that we faced are lessons from life, to make us grow in strength.

Conversations

I saw my own eyes. Not in a reflection, But through yours. I wished for you to see yours Through mine. Conversations must be had.

Birthday!

Image
I celebrated my 40th birthday today. It was nice to have some close friends around! I am thankful for being alive.  I see how insignificant I am, in this vast universe. Im not above anyone or below anyone. Just a flawed human trying to live like everyone else.

I can’t touch the sky!

Image
I went back to the gym today after many days since Christmas and had a proper workout! It felt good to hurt my spine again. My mobility is getting worse by the day, so I spent a lot of time stretching. I know it will get worse over time, so I decided to achieve a few things this year. I’ll note them down here for accountability and compare them with my post at the end of the year. My Music Album I want to release an album this year. I’ve already started working on it. I’m composing violin parts for Martin to play on it. I need inspiration for lyrics, and my muse is nowhere to be found! But I’ll stick to it regardless. More Guitar Playing I am going to spend a lot of time playing the guitar this year! I have a few songs in mind to learn and play. These are difficult. I’ll also get into reading classical music. I could use some new songs to teach, especially with my students catching up with me. Diet and Workout I’m going to be serious about my diet and workout to maintain my posture and...

To a Balcony, With Love

Image
There she was, my crush, watering her plants on her balcony. Her plants didn’t just thrive, they flourished. She must have a green thumb! My admiration for her grew. She was a morning person, starting her day with a warm cup of coffee, sipping it as she sat on her sofa. I would glance at her from my terrace through her balcony door while watering my plants. Then, she’d disappear to do her chores. ———————————— I wanted someone just like her. I sighed when she noticed me and waved. I waved back, captivated. She had a divine aura about her, almost like Goddess Lakshmi, whose stories I’d heard from my grandmother. Everything around me faded into the background, broken only by her voice. “Had breakfast?” she called out. I gave her a thumbs-up. “Yeah. You?” She nodded in response. I loitered around my terrace, pretending to work, picking at dry leaves, while she hung her clothes to dry. ———————————— The doorbell rang. There she was, breathtaking. A gust of wind blew her hair, filmi style, in...

Race with Time

Image
I am in a race with Time! He is a worthy rival. We know there’s no defeating one another; We’ll keep competing. I fight him with workouts, Haircuts, skin treatments, and sleep. But he’s always catching up; “That’s one tenacious foe.” This rat race must end. I have nothing to lose, Nothing to win. The finish line is where I drop dead.

Back to full fledged work!

Image
Two happy ducks, just let them be… Monday (Tomorrow) onwards it’s back to work! I had a relaxed two month break of sorts. This year I’m going to spend a lot of time working on my music and lessons.  God’s grace, I have had a lot of enquiries with students even willing to come in at 5:00 am for lessons. I cannot slack anymore sigh!  Today was a fun day, we all caught up at Nikhil and Divya’s place. Had so much fun, we forgot to take pics. I drank some burbon and got so high, and somehow drove back home.

Cheese!

Image
I went to Nature’s basket to check out some cheese today. I ended up buying some Parmesan and Gouda for ₹1500.  I enjoyed them both. Parmesan was dry and nutty, where as the Gouda slice was flexible and creamy.  I also bought some Korean noodles which was yumm.  What surprised me was the price of butternut squash, which we grow on our terrace garden. It was ₹2499 for one Kg!!

Raw and Real

Image
This image was made using chat GPT.  I was appreciated for my editorials on my school’s newsletter, I responded with, “I write it, with the help of Chat GPT”. Its purpose is to entertain, inform and make an interesting read. I save a lot of time using that tool. So I will shamelessly admit using chat GPT .  Why not use that tech? Blogging is just a drop in that vast ocean.  I used it recently to come up with a weekly schedule for me, just to test it out, I was mid blown! I need to flourish it and get to details before I can use it. My school’s new website is also coming along fine thanks to chat GPT!  Having said that, I’ll never use chat GPT to write my blogs here, though. Of course it could make it an interesting read, but what about keeping it real? What about all the flaws, mistakes and lack of punctuations that makes it “human”? I’d rather have shitty writing from yours truly than have a robot ghost writer here. I understand Chat GPT has its place, but not for t...

Meeting Cherian at Orion

Image
I left from Jude’s place at 6:30 and came home bad crashed again. Cherian woke me up at 10. We decided to catch up at Orion! We had a couple of beer and some amazing prawns tempura.  After that, I did some light shopping and watched Mufasa, 4Dx. It was different to move with the scene and to feel the wind and water droplets. The movie was ok.  I then went to Youmee and had some sushi and rode back home.

Hello 2025 & Jude’s birthday

Image
I welcomed 2025 in church, participating in the holy communion. Then I slept, waking up at 8:00 am. I hit the gym, spent time with my niece and took a nap to catch up on some pending sleep. Then I left to Jude’s place at 4:00. It was his birthday.  At the party were Jonah, Joel, Neha, Priyanka, Gladys, Tejo, Sharmi and Andy. We played a lot of games and watched some videos on YouTube.  I drank a little too much and was too sleepy to drive back, so I stayed over.
