Good bye 2021

Today is the last day of 2021, time everyone makes new year resolutions. I’m so glad that I already began a few months ago with my goals and did not wait till 2022. If it’s worth doing START NOW! Happy 2022

Listening

I find it really difficult to listen if the topic of conversation  does not interest me. Mostly it is church sermons. I’m just not there. My thoughts wander when I’m reading. So it’s very difficult to focus. So the question is, Is it worth listening? Is the book worth reading? Or do I just do a mindless ritual of reading and listening?

Can’t find time. Help!

Getting busy with the garage construction and other minor repairs at home has got my schedule all over the place. I was not able to do the Wim Hof breathing, thanks to the dust from broken roads with new pipes. My schedule is all over the place, but I find time to do a few things and everything should settle soon by. January. Lots of cleaning up, painting after repair is in progress. Looking forward to January 2022.

Pull up bar

I’m getting a pull up bar installed I wanted to be able to do pull ups and it’s only going to come with some practicing. I’m not convinced if the anchor bolt can actually take my weight, so if I die doing pull ups, so be it.

People who matter vs people who don’t

Energy vampires are people who don’t need to be in your life. It’s quite difficult to please everyone. So I am obviously brutally ignoring and avoiding the ones who don’t. I have a handful of friends who is very close to me and I’m there for them no matter what. I have learnt to ask unwanted questions to the others, not that I don’t care, but just avoiding chit chat and saving it only for the close ones. I work on relationships and value it with each and every one of them.  (Posted on 25th December the blogger app did not publish this due to some technical issue)

Last week of this year

The last week this year is to prepare for the coming year! Let’s hope for a better one next year! I have to work on my personal growth and make a structured plan to prepare for the next year. I must also plan to do vlogs about the garden! Let the planning begin!

Merry Christmas!!

I wore a suit today to church, and also did an Eldridge knot on my tie. The usual shabby person that I was, was transformed into a sharp guy in a suit. But I didn’t feel different. I was the same old goofy guy inside, and I didn’t let the compliments carry me away. I knew who I was. I was just  grateful to be alive and with no pain.

Writing down reminders

I went to the bakery yesterday to order a cake for my nephew’s birthday. The shop keeper was only interested in getting the advance paid to his account, also he had a lot of buyers crowding around. After making the payment, he lifted his thumbs to show he received it and continued with his work. He did not bother asking what cake I wanted and other details. So, I waited and insisted he wrote it down and I really didn’t want to take a risk again, as another baker had messed up the order earlier. So maintaining a book/app with reminders can help quite a bit in getting more organized and will free you from anxiety.

Playing with the cards in your hand

We are all given different advantages and some disadvantages in life. We get carried away with the disadvantages and it can weigh you down. The soliton is to embrace the disadvantage and accept it. May be you have an underlying health issue, and you can’t do anything about it. Try your best to overcome this and let it not affect the other advantages and opportunities you get. You don’t have to stand out. Just play the game. You win some. You lose some. In the end you die. It only matters how you played the game with the bad cards you had. Fight a good fight!

Ask and you will recieve

Anything I have wanted I have it only because I believed I will have it someday. But there’s more to this. I had to ask for something till I got it. Keep asking, keep seeking until you get or find what you want. Be consistent, relentless and you will finally achieve this.

My students win!

Three of my students bagged all the instrumental music prizes from Antony Claret School. This is indeed a proud moment for me. But the credit should entirely go to Ivan, Nathan, who came 1st, 2nd and Joshua who won the consolation prize. The winner Ivan has very supportive parents, they provide everything he needs. He is the only student of mine, from India with a piano at home. The three of them also have parents who has disciplined them to have a practice routine.

Fear

Fear within Can destroy  Fear of pain  Can destroy  Fear of fear  Is death

I am 13493 days old!

I have lived 13493 days! And it’s been a long time. I’m so grateful for the opportunities and challenges in my life that has made me into what I am today. This year is almost coming to an end and it has been a productive and life changing year for me and some of my friends.  Cheers to more days to come! Bring it!

Caroling

I had a long day yesterday, driving around, planning and setting up a makeshift kennel, a kinda busy day. Then it hit me, I felt so very tired at 6:00 pm, I just wanted to crash! I played through the carols and overate everything, was careful to avoid cakes. As soon as I came back home I just almost fainted into my dreams.

Drive to Heseraghatta

Today I drove to the grasslands with my brother and my nephew and niece! I have improved a lot on driving. The roads were bad and got better as we reached the destination. The roads around the grassland was empty and that made this trip worth it.

Bringing work home, some rules.

It is quite exhausting to get your family involved with your work, especially when something is wrong. I know you get the “feel good” emotional support from them, but what good is it anyway? You could be pondering in thought and may be forgetting what needs to be done. Your routine, feeding people, forgetting your medicines, your baby?  I think work time and thought shouldn’t be brought home. Home is for family. Yes, sometimes it’s ok to be this way, not every time if this becomes a habit. I have made a few rules for myself. 1. Never discuss work problems with your family unless it’s absolutely required  2. Never get family to do the work for you, unless you compensate them in some way.  3. Listen to family if they are bringing their work frustrations home but scoot if it is becoming a regular thing.  4. Communicate with family and delegate your tasks to someone else if you are not able to carry out. 5. Seek help only if it is absolutely necessary.  6. Try and smile even during hard ti

Back up plan

There needs to be a routine, to carry out one’s personal objectives. Listing your responsibilities to yourself and the commitment to others around you and then prioritizing it will help! Most of the time the others depend on you. But don’t expect the others to be as responsible, always have back up plan.

Blood

Fight amongst siblings,  Is an auto immune disorder.  What is supposed to be good for,  Is fighting against you  There’s no cure they say,  Unless there’s a miracle,  Where the immune cell understands  What’s good and what’s not.  Until then the host is  SCREWED!

Brushing twice a day

I used brush once a day! A recent visit to the dentist made me aware of the importance of brushing twice a day and also gum massages. I didn’t know people brushed twice a day until the doctor told me about it. Well, here’s to new habits and routines!

Start today

Why wait till January to start your resolutions? Make goals and start working on it now! Not today NOW! It is quite easy to binge watch all the shows and stay on bed all day. Find time to do everything, make a list prioritize and start working on  the top 5 asap!

Lead by example

I have failed in many things. But I have learnt from those failures. I’m not afraid to fail again, but I’m confident I’ll pick myself up again. There are people who look up to me, and I’m sure I’m accountable. I have students, friends and family who depend on me. So it’s important to lead by example. I need to remember, people watch what we do.  So, if you are reading this, and if I know you, I’m a keen observer too.

Ocean

The unknown  The abyss  The magnitude  The depth The fear  The loneliness The wave  The emptiness  The knowledge  The treasure  The breathlessness The anxiety  The food  Your eyes

Keeping track

Keeping track of things and noting it down is very productive. I started noting down things to do, things to buy, expenses, income and my schedules. This frees my mind and I am sure of not missing anything and makes life super productive. I also don’t forget things.

Visiting Dr. Manoj

I felt a cavity on the left upper molar, so I decided to go to a dentist, Dr. Manoj’s Denta Clinic. My parents visit him for their dental appointments.  I reached there at the time of my appointment at 11:00 am and it was a clean well organized place. The infected tooth was filled (thank god I didn’t need a root canal!) and cleaned.  After the appointment, Dr Manoj and I had a chat about the music scenes during the pandemic and we had a long conversation about the various happenings. He also asked me to share with him some country music and I’m on it!

Desire and drive (not the car)

Ivan, my piano student loves challenges. He taught himself to play Liszt’s La Campanella. He started on it slowly and gradually, learnt it completely by ear! He had the desire or the drive to do this, to work on it bit by bit and getting to hear himself play it. So if you have the desire and drive to excel in something all you need to do is act, and work on it till you are done! If you are truly driven, it leads to an obsession to excel!

Cleaning my home

I can’t believe I had the energy to completely clean my house yesterday! Mostly it was due to Wim Hof and also tea I think.  This was how I did it. I cleaned one room at a time, took a break and finished 4 rooms through the day. So these micro cleaning schedule through the day added up and I woke up to a clean home!

Reset - cleaning again

Two days ago, I started a repair project at home. This was to fix broken sinks, furniture, cupboards and also we had a minor termite problem. I made a list and finished each project one by one. After competition, my house was a mess! Things everywhere dust, sand and cement. So it’s time to clean again. I’m done fifty percent. Have lots more to do! Hope I finish soon!

Tea

I have been drinking tea everyday! No sugar, just plain tea. Sometimes green tea, sometimes regular. I have been seeing results from the effects of tea! It calms me down, makes milk a little more tolerant.  The benefits of tea is yet to unveil itself on me. Fingers crossed.

Avocado tree

One of the best things we did was to plant an avocado tree in the back yard! We have had hundreds of fruits! We almost cut it when it didn’t flower for eight years! But patience paid off!  Never thought something we planted in the past would give us so many fruits! This is how investments work too. It’s a long patient game! And don’t forget to eat your fruit!

Waking up early! Finally!

I have been sleeping early and waking up early! This is great progress, waking up even before the alarm goes on!  Waking up early gives ample time for the morning routine. I try to do the difficult tasks immediately and I have the rest of the day to do other things. It also allows me to plan my day and I don’t miss out on important things to do.
