New things to learn!

After the camp, I came back with fresh ideas to improve my personal journey with music and I am discovering the joys of transcribing music, I’m working on an Ilayaraja song. It’s a simple melody but the bass line is killer. Im imagining it on guitar and notating it on software as well; maybe someone will buy it later. Or I’ll release them into a book someday. What say?

Monday!

I slept a lot during the day, then the carpenters came in to complete the work under my sink. They fit the frames and now I wait for the mica to be stuck for the finish. The sink is also clogged so tomorrow we need to get a plumber in. It’s overwhelming with a lot of work, but it needs to be done.

Andy’s place

I went to visit Andy today. I met him at Bethel and we hung out at his place and had lunch together. The biryani tasted like the ones I have had at Hyderabad. Then we ordered from Jetros, and had to go there and collect it because Andy had put the wrong location for the food to be delivered. Then Jude came by and picked us up and we ate fish fries, watched IPL and played sequence. Gladys and Thejo joined us.

Termites!

My kitchen door started to fall apart, thanks to termites. My got a carpenter home to fix it today we cleaned up, yanked out all the infested wood, took measurements for replacements. We also fixed the jammed doors today. I got lunch from Sahana aunty. She was kind enough to send some food over. God bless her.

Hectic, but productive day!

I woke up early and at 7:00 I walked to the polling station, to cast my vote. Then it was breakfast time, I had Puttu and pappadam. I was soo thankful for mom! Then the kids arrived. Ivan booked a bike transport and got here quite early. I set up the place and saw the video Emmanuel sent. To my surprise all the kids were on time. Akshita and Durga stayed up and wrapped some chocolates to appreciate my efforts. God bless them. We went through each session and we revised core theory concepts and did some exercises. Then we played some games. I treated them with Burger King! Thank God I had Ujwal’s help. Then it was time for them to leave. I felt sad that the camp was over. They are all my babies! Some of them will be such amazing musicians!

Camp last day!

I’m preparing for the last day at camp! My parents will be here and I need to wake up early to go vote and take some classes. so good night!

Snow!

I know it’s hot and humid, But why do I have cold feet?  Butterflies in my stomach,  I’m feeling all that again.  I know I’m in love.  She’s an artist,  Paints sceneries and teaches me the art too!  Organised, clarity in speech,  My “crush”  Then I noticed the ring,  There was perhaps a man in her life?  I secretly wished for someone, just like her.  Then it snowed, just on the inside, My heart felt heavy A song left my lips,  I prayed, I manifested!  Now I wait.

Guitar Camp

We had an amazing day at camp, learning more music theory, through fun and games. Durga also played Drifting better than last week. The kids love performing and preparing for it. I also took some classes later!

Chetak service

I gave the scooter for service today at the  branch through Ujwal. He dropped the bike and we went again to pick it up.  He said this place was not as crowded as the Rajajinagar branch. The service was ok. Not so great, we had to point out a few stubborn stains on the scooter.  I took the scooter to the RTO after this and got my Activa’s RC. Finally.

Guitar camp!

On public demand, I started the guitar camp! I’m looking forward to sharing knowledge and working with my students. Today I spent time planning and setting up the place with the help of Ujwal.

Bootcamp ends!

Finally the bootcamp is done. We had a lot of fun organizing it. The kids wanted to extend it for a few more days but we didn’t have enough resources for it. My feet is getting better. Looking forward to the healing.

Rain?

Solomon and I were going to the Gym and I felt a few drops of rain on my hands. I really hope it rains. I was sweating even before I reached the gym. I found it really hard to work out but I pulled myself through it. I’m on it. I got this!

Bootcamp

The Bootcamp is a big hit!! I got a few messages from parents asking me to continue the call for a few more days! Looks like the kids are picking up some amazing skills from us. I was thrilled to hear this, I’m still thinking about it, I’ve lost my personal space! It’s like I’m being invaded! But it’s awesome to have a bunch of budding musicians in my home!!

Hitting the Gym

Today was day 2 working out. I didn’t have the energy to do anything. I dragged myself to the gym. I didn’t want to give any excuses. I did chest and did some pulls. Mid way through I felt good. I continued just doing core work. My leg will hurt. But I’ll still do it. Enough of being a sitting duck.

Calcium supplements

I’m on calcium supplements for a month. Doctor asked me to walk normally without using my toes. I also took my bike out with Solomon and hit the gym! I need to eat good food and exercise.

X ray

I went to Baptist Hospital to get my X-ray done, sadly the machine broke and I wean to two other places that took a long time. I also walked a lot with no crutches. I reached home and decided to go to a centre near my home and I got the x ray done. I have a lot more healing to do. I need to take the appointment online tomorrow. Fingers crossed, pray for me.

Routine for a week

8:00 to 2:00 boot camp  2:00 to 6:00 rest/nap  6:00 to 9:00 prepare for next day 9:00 hit the bed

Longest day ever

Today Solomon and Ujwal helped me get through the cleaning and setting up for the music boot camp. My right foot was swollen by the end of all the work. We also went to New Bel Road to Printo and then purchased all the stationaries and set up all the keyboards. Exhausted. I have to now catch up on my piano assignments.

Walking without crutches!

I stopped using crutches. I use the side of my feet to walk just like the doctor suggested. I’m trying to get an online consultation with the doctor, just so I can avoid going to the hospital. The Baptist hospital doesn’t seem to be organized and the staff well informed. They had to keep asking someone to get information about the doctor’s schedule.

Weather is cold now?

I woke up in a warm fan running room, and I heard some birds outside, I opened my windows to investigate, cool air filled my room. It was quite cold and there was no sign of rain. Strange to feel cool, as if I stepped into a room with AC on. I’m  just taking it all in with gratitude.  I tried Wim Hof’s guided breathing workout! I think it’s a great way to start the day. I’m also planning to do this tonight.

Jolada Roti

Janani akka, helps clean my house, she got some obattu yesterday for Ugadi. Today I asked her if she could make some Jolada roti for me, I would have this for dinner. She also got me some dal curry to go with it. I’m missing out on veggies, I will never take a home cooked meal for granted. God bless the hands that make it.

Gruel

Today’s lunch was epic! Ujwal and I made gruel. I think this can compete with ramen! We had ours made with red rice green gram onions and coconut milk! The quantity was not sufficient! I ended up being hungry after about an hour.  Also I had chapati for breakfast after a very long time. But I felt lot more drowsy!

Will it rain?

I read in the news that it will rain after Ugadi, I’m hoping for some good rain this week! The plants in the backyard are parched due to neglect. I’m hoping my leg gets better quickly. My parents are off to Kerala, and the plants suffer the most when they do. Wishing for some rain.

Fixing things with my dad.

How a little bit of ego can separate you from your loved ones. I needed a friend, Andy, to tell me to make that call to my dad. What I spoke with my dad is very personal, but I’m glad I did that.  I was too busy being hurt, in pain and being bitter and pushed away everyone else from my life as well. “…was blind but now I see”.  Thank you Andy, for opening my eyes to this. I feel like a huge burden lifted off me, I was wondering why I didn’t think of just calling him sooner. But God sent you to tell me this.

First steps! Look ma, No crutches!

I took my first steps without crutches, heel walking, and I was quite relieved. Maybe in another 3 weeks, I’ll walk normally. I’m wishing all the healing up on myself.

For the eyes!

My new favorite spot is just by my living room window, I get the morning sun here. I have made this my habit to get the sun for 15 to 30 minutes everyday. I asked mom to get the dusty, cobwebby cycles removed, and replace them with potted plants. My view is getting better by God’s Grace. Looking forward to another day there.

Healing and being patient.

My foot is getting better, sometimes it swells up especially when I sit a lot. Eventually walking will pump the blood up, I’m hoping. I have to wait patiently. I’m also working and improving my music business simultaneously. I I’ll be off crutches soon, hopefully.

Alma Mater!

Quite a task ordering T-shirts for students. It was a lot of back and forth. They didn’t have answers to T shirt size questions immediately. They took a lot of time to respond. I hope the T shirt arrives on time, as soon as we order. Fingers crossed.

Prediction!

I predict rain,  Maybe a trickle, Atleast a drizzle,  Need them rains.

And so it happened…

Ssup fool!  Happy fool’s day!
