Fever

I’m down with high fever. I guess it will take another day or two to heal completely. I ended up cancelling all my classes as I lost my voice. I played some guitar today, actually a lot of guitar.

Cold!

Come monsoons, there’s everyone around with a cold. I caught cold yesterday and it’s been getting worse. I have a sore throat now that’s didn’t allow me to take my classes. I’m hoping I feel better soon I cannot be missing so many classes. I’m just on Ocacet and paracetamol for now. Hoping to recover from this with a mug of dry ginger tea.

Nap time!

I cherish and enjoy my noon nap time. I’m able to wake refreshed after gym and regular chores to my work time. I feel rested! I’m not sure if it’s my age catching up! But I’m going with what my body is demanding!  I am usually listening to podcasts and drifting to sleep or just playing chess before my nap!

Guitar case!

Sanjay borrowed my guitar case for the RDP tour in UK! Looks like my case broke, Thanks to the luggage handling folks. It was an expensive flight case from Gator! I am upset coz I got to know about this though the band’s social media post! This happened a few days ago!

Half of 2023!

Half of 2023 is already done! This year, I became even more disciplined, took good care of my health. I have also pushed myself to the limits that I could only dream of. Everything seems to be in place for now. I want to be able to cook for myself, and stay organized a bit more with a proper schedule to get more work done.

Vote Ink

The ink has not left my nail, Empty promises were made!  Now it’s just all quiet!  They removed the vendors from the streets,  Which would mean we only use De’needs  Hurried works for Jio posts were seen, Burrowing into newly laid roads, through the puddles made by the rain.  The drains are clogged,  Weed and grass grow in between the cracks of the pathways I paid my dues, but whose job is it anyway?  We are all just litters that are ripped apart by hungry dogs.

Bad haircut sore muscles!

I got the worst haircut ever yesterday! I almost looked like Tosin Abasi when the barber decided to take away the top a little more. But it’s just hair, it will grow.  Right now, my muscles are so sore from working out. Today I worked out  my hamstrings, glutes and regions on my back that has never exercised! I’ll work on my mobility, looks like a long way forward.

New things added to my routine!

I know I’ve been ranting about gymming a lot! Today onwards I’m going to add some things to do regularly. I may not be able to stick to it. I have a clean home mostly, thanks to Revathi, who just takes care of my place without being told. I have time to focus on other things.  I have to set up a google calendar with tasks and get these done at a specific time. This would mean that I miss time with friends on discord, maybe I’ll lose a few friends. Or I can do this once a week and schedule this as well.  Today is planning day. Maybe I’ll share it here some time. Off I go for now.

Fitness

I woke up early today! 6:00 am. I lazed around and at 7:30 am I went to the gym! I was given a few light warm ups and exercises to do which I completed without much difficulty. I met the two gym instructors there, Thomas and Bharath! after gym I met Harish, and fixed an appointment for an Ayurvedic massage at 10:00. I reached home at 11:30 and cleaned my house.

Gym

I signed up for a gym membership. I had a long chat with Bharath the trainer at the Gym. I have asked him to go easy on me. Last time my muscles were so sore and my recovery was slow. I’m looking forward to this, have to wake up early and go to the gym. Excited!

Night out

After a meeting at 9:00 pm, I was starving so Solomon, my Joe Neighbour suggested we go to Al Amanah cafe. So we drove to the place. I ordered a falafel roll with an extra egg! The roll was heavenly! After which we hung out with Satish at a chai joint! Reached back home very sleepy at around 12:30! So this is a late blog!

An outing with my nephews!

I took my nephews who visited me from Kerala. They helped me pull out some weed and burn them and then I took them out to Hunan! We had some delicious chili pork, noodles and fried rice. Then we went to Milano for ice cream which was heavenly. We came back home quite late! So I’m writing this before I get some shut eye.

Whistle!

He whistled at her, to get her attention! She, pretended to not hear the shrill sound clutching her books close. She threw a gaze at him from the corner of her eye and caught him combing his hair through his fingers.  She reached home and found her mom missing! Complaining loudly that the woman does one thousand tasks at the same time she switched off the stove that had a whistling milk cooker on.  As she turned the cooker off, came another whistle! This time  it was the garbage collector with a cheap coach whistle. She disposed the garbage and stepped back in! She was late for her class!  Her brother was in the toilet, whistling to the tune of ARR’s   hamma hamma! “Open the door Biju” she yelled, the whistling stopped abruptly, and immediately! She would definitely be late for her classes!  She god done with her chores and took a bus to college! The conductor whistled, alerting the driver to start the bus.  As she entered college, the PT teacher had her whistle going to get the school

Ravi and Johanson

Today I met Ravi and Johanson at New Bel road. We caught up. I am meeting Johanson after so many years! He went through a divorce recently and seemed to be doing fine.  Ravi told me about his life in Goa after he moved there and how he’s living like a rockstar! We went to plan B then had chapatis as Nammura Naati Mane and had chapati and murtin curry and then has ice-cream at Milano.

Who reads my blogs?

If you happen to read my blogs, please send me a Dm! I’m noticing that the regular readership number has increased by one. I’m just curious as to who is reading them. Maybe we can connect and you can give me blogging ideas?  I’m planning to write some short stories, here’s one.  https://anishnadh.blogspot.com/2021/10/the-performance.html

Leaf broth!

I’ve been taking vitamin D supplements once a week, I also watched a few YouTube videos that speaks of the benefits of taking vitamin K along with it. Instead of supplementing with more tablets, I decided to boil, cool and blend in some leaves and gulp it down with a table spoon of curd, turmeric and cumin with a pinch of pepper.  The leaves that I use include amaranth both red and green, agathi, curry, moringa and ponnanganni. Now over to my gut bacteria to convert K1 to K2 which will work with virltakin D to help absorb the calcium back into my bones. Yeah!

Judge!

He switched to another video that YouTube’s algorithm suggested! This one was about SIPs and he was disinterested. He wanted something with value, yet entertaining, Netflix just wouldn’t cut it. He was drawn to the politics and PC culture that was regurgitated on his suggested videos. He found both sides sometimes, quite appalling, he sometimes liked the inclusiveness that one side gave but they appeared weak on the other hand he loved the logic that the other side provided while they didn’t care. He was finally left with his own opinion to both sides. He was the sole judge! He felt powerful! The power to make a choice. The power to judge!  Empowered, he opened his Bible, before he prayed and his eyes went into theses lines Mathew 7:1. “ Judge not, that ye be not judged”

Back to more chores!

My parents left to Kerala, leaving me with more chores! I’m not responsible for watering the plants on the terrace garden as well, also added responsibility to feed Toffee. Then comes cooking responsibilities, I’m challenging myself to not order in food for the next 3 days. Maybe I’ll enjoy cooking and learn a thing or two. Hoping I find the time.

Horror stories!

Anderson Paul wanted to while away time so he joined Discord and got us all on it. When Vridhi wanted to leave he stalled her by starting horror story session. We just listened to all the made up stories I don’t think she realized she was being stalled. Andy is sleepy but he’s not showing signs of giving up. The stalling saga continues.

Lunch with the boys!

Solomon, Andy and I went to Hunan for lunch today! I ordered garlic noodles with prawns! The food was delicious! We also had a great conversation about women, and our personal opinions. After lunch we went out for ice-cream, and came back home. We made fun of Solomon who was ordering his parents and sister around and not doing any actual work unpacking. We hung out and played guitars and banjos and it was time to finally say good bye.

Lot of classes today!

After sleeping quite late last night, I woke up with the alarm going on at 7:30 am! I snoozed a couple of times and reluctantly woke up, got ready for my classes at 8:00 I had classes till 11:00 after that, I had my breakfast and crashed! I slept till about 2:30 and started classes again till 6:00 pm. Then I took a walk with Solomon my new neighbor and then went to cult fitness to figure out the gym membership. It was closed as it was second Saturday. After that I had veg pulao and came back home. I’m tired. Planning to sleep early.

Late blog!

I almost forgot to write this blog! It’s 1:40 am and I was going through my checklist and realized that I had not written it yet. I had an ok day today, lot of classes and I was too tired to do anything else. Though I walked 5000 steps I missed playing the guitar today. I’m off to sleep now.

Julie!

Juliana David was my girlfriend when I was 15 years old. I loved her, she was this cute thing that appeared in church! My sole motivation to learn the guitar was to impress her! I practiced a ton of guitar to play and sing with her, she loved singing and she always had better guitars and did not play as good!  Julie is one of the most important people in my life. Before she moved to the UK, she came to the college I was at and dropped her electric guitar, which eventually got me into the band Slain. I’ve never kept my guitar down ever since. This one is for Julie.

Issue with my a left hand!

I injured both my middle fingers during a basket ball game and since then life has not been easy. Now when I do my piano assignments, my teacher, Mrs Elizabeth, always asks me to redo the assignments as my fingers are not in the correct position. I don’t feel any pain on my fingers but it’s difficult to maintain good piano hand posture. I’ve been working on it every single day. Hoping it resolves with some effort.

5000 steps in the rain

Looking forward to the 5000 steps after my nap, I put on my socks shoes, locked the door and as I left my porch it started pouring! It was a fox’s wedding kinda situation! Determined to finish my 5000 steps, I unlocked my door, took out my umbrella and walked to the park. The park has a small shelter meant for people to sit, the seats, now non existent. This place was filled with a lot of people taking cover from the rain. Some of them left their bike out on the road, some had school bags, some were walking back from work, some mothers with a bunch of kids.  As it poured, I circled them through the walk-way wondering what they might be thinking about me!

Taxes!

I have to file my taxes soon. The dead line is next month end. I have to get the checklist from Raghavendra to file the tax returns. As I have various income sources, it’s quite difficult to keep it all organized in an excel sheet. This time it’s going to be quite some hassle.

Prayer!

A silent whisper under my breath,  Sometimes it’s loud lamenting!  Other times, it’s just me, being grateful!

Music!

I’m thankful, grateful.  I’ve tried my best,  To stay true to her! She took care of me!  I’ve never had to work,  Ever since she came into my life!  Blessed!

Working my butt off!

I’ve been trying to balance my work-life situation and I’be quite successfully done that. I can’t seem to find time for Netflix! But I’ve been super productive! Meeting deadlines, getting my physical activities on! I’m looking forward to this weekend!

Challenge!

It’s soon going to be 12:00 midnight. 2 minutes to midnight to be very precise. I have to publish this blog before it hits 12. I know this is not a great blog to read but, today was a super productive day! I walked 5000 steps, did some gardening, killed snails, took a nap, took lessons from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. And I competed my blog! Bye!
