North Karnataka food

I ordered a chicken biryani on Zomato for ₹150. The bill after charges almost hit ₹300! Enraged, I cancelled the order and took my bike out to a small hole in the wall kind of place, that served North Karnataka food! I bought Rice, sambar, two sides of veggies, holige, papad and pickle all for ₹100! I could eat 2 meals for ₹100!!

Process

I’m trying to develop a mindset where I’m focused on the process and not the outcome. Most of the time it’s frustrating to see that we don’t meet expectations. The goal is the process itself!

Angel

She just listened,  Didn’t say a word,  She just sat there, Listening to me.  I shared everything, All my problems, She looked at me,  As if she was helpless.  Then I knew.  I was woke!  I picked myself up  And walked!

Chaos

How do I bring order in this chaos I’m in? I think my midlife crisis is setting in. I’m noticing a bunch of health problems, fatigue, aging parents, lack of organization, heat etc setting in. This is why the midlife folk always grab on to their faith. God help me!

Cleaning one room at a time.

There’s a certain wisdom in getting into the habit of cleaning. Being present and focusing in on the process is key. I’m going to start with the bathroom today, and proceed to other rooms over the week.

Recording

I took 1 hour to record a 5 second intro to a new track! Composing this took a long time! It was a very simple melody but took a long time!

Khazana biryani

This biryani place was famous for its beef biryani. When I was in my pre university, this costed me ₹10 per plate. Now the biryani costs ₹130. Still worth the money and taste. Must visit Khazana at Johnson market in Bangalore,

Hydra and Steve Vai

Steve Vai released a song recently on his YouTube channel called Teeth of the Hydra . This song is nothing short of genius. He has managed to compose everything musical on that one instrument except the drums.  The guitar itself looks so complex with all the extra fretboards and harp attachments. Genius!

Birds and the Bees

My garden has begun to see some birds on the mulberries. They don’t leave any ripe ones or bugs on them! I hope they nest on my tree.  The bees I’m planning to keep have a lot of predators. Lizards and spiders are going to kill them and the Ants are going to steal the honey! I need to find an apt place for them before s getting them in.

Eggs

There’s an old aunty who sits by the park selling county eggs. It costs ₹100 for 15 of them. I have seen her sit there through the pandemic, through the dust. Now a political party sponsored an umbrella for shade with their symbols and all. She still sits there selling eggs off her basket by the park.

Fights

Fights  Made to claim the love for another is, Love

Prayer

Anybody there? I have been calling out,  For help!  Anyone listening?  Are you there?

Walnut Brownie

Tasted the best walnut brownie today! It was from n&n bakery. They had distributed in church today for Easter. I even claimed to be collecting the brownie for Andy and ate extras in his name!

God does my work!

I spend a good amount of time watering the plants. But God has been kind enough to water the plants himself! It’s been raining 3 days straight! Thank you lord!

Beast!

Watched Beast movie with Jude, Sharmi and Andy today! I enjoyed the movie, but I’m noticing a change in the price! The recliners costed us around 950 each! Popcorn was over 600 bucks for a big bucket! Time to invest in pvr and inox?

Eggs

I started eating eggs after almost a month. My body has been craving for some protein for so long. Eggs will help me transition into other non vegetarian food when I complete the lent cycle on Easter. Love them eggs!

Rise up

Stand tall, Be strong.  We got this, Rise up,  Over all difficulties,  And bow down,  Only to the creator.  One day  You will rise.

Burn the boat

If you want to take over the island, get to the island and burn your boat. Have no option to return back. You won’t have an excuse to not stay. There’s a possibility of failure, but you would’ve fought your best.

Roads

Finally they put some tar cover over our roads here. It’s not done well, I think it’s just for namesake, after complaining many times against the dust issue here.  But this wok give temporary relief from the dry summer. At least we will be inhaling less dust.

Palm Sunday

Palms remind me of my granny. She  made baskets out of them for my grandpa to collect grass for the cows they kept. She also made a lot of toys for us, watches, glasses, cubes. The palms from Palm Sunday reminded me of my granny.

Mind games

I don’t play this game,  Unless you matter to me.  I only do this, To make you think for yourself.  But what I’ve realized is, That I’m playing mind  games with myself  It’s not gonna end well, It’s not gonna end well.

Guitar

“Stop playing” she said, I gave her a painting of a guitar,  Painted with my blood.  She backed off,  Into the abyss.

Fan on

Tease my skin, Come alive.  It’s just a breeze, This too will pass. What good is a star, Without a fan?

Coffee the Dawg!

Coffee and I share a certain bond after I started working in the backyard. Every time he hears the gate, he runs towards me, wagging his tail. Initially he used to be afraid of getting wet while I watered the plants. Now there seems to be some kind of a trust between us, he knows I’m not gonna intentionally pour the water on him. I’m also making sure that he gets a shower every Saturday and he seems to be enjoying it especially because now that it’s summer. Without coffee gardening would be a little boring because he’s the only thing that moves in the backyard and maybe he’s keeping out the snakes.

Bobby

We lost Bobby today, April 5th. He was my neighbour for 5 years. Quiet guy, curious about what we do. I heard he drowned in the ocean at Udupi. I went to his house and met his brother and Abhilash, who was in tears as well. Sad.

Moving stones

He couldn’t believe he moved those heavy stones all by himself! It took him a few days but he did it. One stone at a time.  So here I take one step at a time, one blog at a time, one seed at a time. I live one moment at a time.

Bass guitar

I bought for myself a 5 string bass guitar today. It’s an Ibanez. I’m planning to record some music with it. Jude also got a Martin guitar gifted to him by Sharmi!

Ugadi Celebrations at Chikkabanavara village

My students Nathan and Joshua were invited to play to a small audience of curious village children today. We were invited by Mr. Krishna and his intention was to create a curiosity among the children who have never seen a live performance. They were inquisitive about the instruments and got distracted as the western classical music did not work for the sandalwood palette. But I was happy that Joshua and Nathan got to play there. May be they took away a lesson or two from there.

The best blog post ever!

 April fools!
